Does Humane Meat Exist?

One of my cousins shared something that had the words “humane meat” in it. The post was about how parents try and feed their child healthy organic food or something like that. The dictionary definition of humane is:

Characterized by tenderness, compassion, and sympathy for people and animals, especially for the suffering or distressed; acting in a manner that causes the least harm to people or animals

You can’t humanely kill someone. That’s an oxymoron. If you are truly compassionate than you wouldn’t kill the animal, you would let the animal live. And the least harm would be to let the animal live. It’s like defending murder by saying “I let the person watch as much TV as he wanted and gave him his favorite food for his last meal. Therefore I was humane in my treatment of my captive. So my murdering him is completely justified. That would be insane and wouldn’t hold up in court.

So why does it hold up when talking about defenseless animals?
