Taking Control of Your Health

I found this picture on Happy Herbivore’s facebook page. It shows what weight gain/excess weight looks like on the inside rather than on the outside. If you want to see the whole article that this picture is from visit

It shows that carrying excess weight is extremely dangerous for you. And telling people that they might need to start eating healthily/exercising to lose weight isn’t being mean. I mean you can be mean about it. But telling someone this also will save their life. And its not “fat shaming” if you tell people facts about what excess weight does in their body.

Yes people’s weight shouldn’t be the only thing that you should judge a person on. But it isn’t just affecting their outside appearance. It’s affecting their inside as well.

  1. Thanks for sharing this. If that doesn’t make me want to give up my cookies and cream, nothing will. I’d like to get permission from the copyright owner to share it as well. Did you have much trouble tracking him or her down? I gather the Daily Mail had permission, but I’m not seeing any link to to the actual copyright holder.

    1. As long as you’re not profiting off it and you don’t say its your own/credit them, it’s cool to share it.

And no problem. I still have a bit of trouble giving up candy though. My roommate brought home a big container of Sour Punch Straws and told everyone else in the house that we can eat them. So I’ve been snacking on them all day. As long as candy and sweets aren’t in my house I’m pretty good at not eating them. Most sweets you can buy at the store aren’t vegan so it helps. I was totally wishing that the Sour Punch Straws weren’t vegan but they are. đŸ™‚ Glad you liked it.

      1. I’m with you on keeping the sugary treats out of the house. Unfortunately, I live way too close to a lovely little French patisserie. Oh. My. Goodness.

Well shucks. I was hoping I could get permission to use those photos. I do believe the copyright laws apply to anyone using them, photographs being many a photographer’s livelihood.

  2. Thanks for sharing great visual! My hubby is obese around the mid-section but is also a vegetarian of 6 years. He gets offended when I point this out but I only do it, like you said, out of concern for his health and well-being.

  3. I heard Oprah Winfrey say once that within every body, there’s a fat person trying to get out. Looking at the evidence above, I say it’s the exactly the opposite! No one should be made to feel ‘bad’ about herself for having a high BMI, but she should definitely not accept it as normal either.
