Feeling Alone?

Is it just me or sometimes being vegan makes you feel alone in the world? I mean I have plenty of online friends that are vegan, which helps. But I haven’t met anyone who is even vegetarian let alone vegan. When your friends joke that they are getting bacon and sausage for “us carnivores.” When you go to a potluck breakfast and literally the only things you can eat are grapes (that you brought) and hash browns. When your professor gives away free donuts that aren’t vegan, so you don’t eat any. When people have a bake sale at school and nothing is vegan. So you would love to support the cause but you also don’t want to support the animal abuse. When it’s not your turn to bring snacks for household meeting and the person whose turn it is brings donuts, that aren’t vegan. I could go on and on.

Just sometimes it feels like I’m the only one who cares about this issue. The only one who is vegan.

  1. You know why you’re doing what you are doing, stay strong. It’s not that other people don’t care, many don’t have thee opportunity to learn about the vegan diet and how it can benefit others and the environment, so just carry on with their usual habits! It’s easy to see why someone would, very few of us have been lifelong vegans.

  2. I pretty much can’t wait for the day when I have a child so that there will always be another vegan in my life lol. But yeah it’s so lonely and frustrating and basically depressing when no one else around cares… especially when you’ve tried to educate people like family but they care more about the taste of flesh than they do about pretty much literally helping to save the world.
