How Cecil the Lion is No Different From The Millions of Farm Animals Killed

All over my Facebook people are talking about Cecil the lion. It’s great to see people band together for animal’s but…. Those same people eat meat every day.

According to Google, factory farming is “a system of rearing livestock using intensive methods, by which poultry, pigs, or cattle are confined indoors under strictly controlled conditions.” If you search factory farming in Google Images you find some quite disturbing images.

And this isn’t even the slaughterhouses. You can Google Image those if you want but they are way more disturbing than the above pictures. Most farmed animals that we eat in the United States, about 95 percent to be exact, comes from factory farms. So when you eat meat you eat animals that have never been outside, who are treated like objects with price tags rather than living beings. The factory farms care more about bottom line than animal welfare. Because the more animals they can push through the better. Even if it means cramming more animals in a small space.

Cecil he lion’s death should not have happened. The animal wasn’t causing anyone harm or wasn’t about to kill a person. However, this happens every day.
